Ian & Lauren Corley
Church planting in Delta, CO
About
Ian was born and raised in Farmington, NM. He was saved at the age of 5 years old when he realized his sin guilt before God and called upon the Lord Jesus Christ to save him. He attended Heartland Baptist Bible College and graduated with a Bachelors of Ministry. While he was at Heartland he met the love of his life, Lauren Collins. They were married after Ian’s college graduation and God opened up the doors for them to return to his home church (College Heights Baptist Church in Farmington, NM). While there Ian served for 5 years in the role of youth pastor/song leader.
Lauren was born in Shawnee, Kansas and spent her childhood living outside of Kansas City, Missouri. She was blessed to be raised in a Christian home by parents who faithfully served in their local church. At the age of 6, Lauren realized her need to receive Christ as her Savior after a missions conference at church and called on Him for salvation. When Lauren was 18, she began to feel God burdening her heart regarding full-time ministry. Two years later, she started school at Heartland Baptist Bible College. During her freshman year, she had the privilege to travel on the college singing group, Witness. While on the group, she met her future husband, Ian Corley. They married in 2017 and it has been her joy to be his helper in the ministry during their 5 years serving at College Heights Baptist Church.
In January of 2022 God confirmed in Ian’s heart the call to church planting. He had often thought about church planting but considered it as something that would be in the distant future. However, God saw fit to move in Ian’s heart that the time for church planting is now.
The burden that God has placed on Ian’s heart is to see a Local, New Testament, Biblical, Fundamental, Independent Baptist Church started in the city of Delta CO. (The motivation for using these terms is not one of pride or ignorance, rather, the reason is to bring clarity on the doctrines and philosophy of ministry that will be held by the church plant.)

Distinctives
Below are two areas of doctrine and ministry philosophy that we wish to be clear on as we endeavor to raise support. It is our desire to take a strong stand in a loving way. Ephesians 4:15 “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:“
KJV Only- I believe that the Bible is God’s Inspired Word and is the authority for all manners of faith and practice (II Tim 3:16-17) God not only inspired the Scriptures, He also promised to preserve them (Psalm 12:6-7). I believe that the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people. Every other English version relies on corrupted manuscripts and the foundational belief that the KJV is mixed with error and can be improved upon. This belief has been a stumbling block for many believers’ faith and is not consistent with sound Biblical doctrine. Therefore, I only use the KJV and consider every other English translation as a perversion of God’s Holy Word. (I acknowledge that this is a complex issue with many believers on both sides, however, this is my effort to clearly take a stand for what I believe to be a foundational issue.)
Closed Communion- God gave the church two ordinances to observe until He returns; Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. It is important to note that He gave these ordinances to the church, not to individuals. I believe that just as it would be inappropriate for an individual to baptize believers without the authority of a local New Testament church, so also it is inappropriate to treat the Lord’s Supper like there are no restrictions on who may partake of it. Communion is given to a local New Testament church (a body of saved, baptized church members) to observe, therefore it needs to be restricted to members only. It is to be administered by the church, for the church.
